Edit DNS Zone – WHM


🌟 Overview

The Edit DNS Zone feature in WHM allows you to modify existing DNS records for a domain.
It’s essential for updating website IPs, email servers, and other DNS-related settings to ensure services work correctly. ⚡


🔑 How to Access

  1. 🔐 Log in to WHM as root or an admin-level user.

  2. Use the search bar or navigate to DNS Functions → Edit DNS Zone.

  3. Select the domain whose DNS zone you want to edit. 🏷️

  4. Click Edit to open the DNS records for modification.


📝 Steps to Edit a DNS Zone

  1. Locate the record you want to modify (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, etc.). 🔍

  2. Update the record’s value (IP address, domain target, TTL, etc.). ✏️

  3. ✅ Click Save to apply the changes.

  4. Optional: Use Add Record to create a new DNS entry if needed. ➕


⚡ Tips & Notes

  • 🛡️ Double-check entries: Incorrect DNS records can break websites or emails.

  • ⏱️ Propagation time: Changes may take a few hours to propagate globally.

  • 📧 MX Records: Make sure MX records are correct if the domain handles email.
